Fire Safety Schedule: EPAR

A fire safety schedule must be issued when granting/ issuing a development consent, complying development certificate, construction certificate or a fire safety order under EPAR. Essential fire safety measures in a fire safety schedule are nominated as safety measures in the Building Code of Australia, Part I1 Equipment and Safety Installations, Table I1 Safety Measures.

Fire Safety Schedule: Scope

A fire safety schedule must deal with the whole building, not merely the part of the building to which the development consent, complying development certificate, construction certificate or fire safety order relates, and must include the fire safety measures currently implemented in the building, and the fire safety measures proposed or required to be implemented in the building as are statutory fire safety measures.

Fire Safety Schedule: Identification

A fire safety schedule must distinguish between the fire safety measures currently implemented in the building premises, and the fire safety measures proposed or required to be implemented in the building premises. The fire safety schedule must also identify each measure that is a critical fire safety measure and the intervals (being intervals of less than 12 months) at which supplementary fire safety measure, and must specify the minimum standard of performance for each fire safety measure included in the schedule.

Fire Safety Schedule: Issuing

A copy of the fire safety schedule must be attached to (and is taken to form part of) the relevant development consent, complying development certificate, construction certificate or fire safety order and for the purposes of an appeal forms part of the development consent or construction certificate. An earlier fire safety schedule is superseded by a later fire safety schedule, and ceases to have effect when the later fire safety schedule is issued.

Fire Safety Schedule: Displaying

A copy of the fire safety schedule, together with the interim or final fire safety certificate must be prominently displayed for the occupiers in the building.
